Kindergarten coming to a close...

Lexie with Mrs. Hayes

Our first year of school is finally over. We hate to leave Mrs. Hayes. She is absolutely wonderful. But we know it is time to move on. Here is a look at Lexie's end of the year party and summer celebration.

Our Memory Book

Lexie receiving the "Enormous Heart" Award

Signing to "What a Wonderful World"

The end of the year party, we received our memory boxes and books. That was just awesome. Lexie received the "Enormous Heart" Award...which Mrs. Hayes says is always putting others first. I was soooo proud. Then, to finish the little presentation, the whole class signed "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. It was beautiful and yes, I cried.

Lexie with Ronald McDonald

Summer celebration was just a fun day outside with moonwalks, face painting and a dunking booth (many teachers got in: Mr. Henderson, Mrs. Heather Rogers, and Mrs. Sanders) and many other fun activities. Ronald McDonald came to visit and the kids had a blast!!!

Where has the time gone?

April 10, 2005

I just don't understand how time flies! It seems like this was just yesterday. My sweet little girl holding her newborn brother. He was absolutely beautiful...if you can say that a boy is beautiful. Wow, I just can't believe that he is 3 and she is 6. It almost makes me depressed. My family is my life. I honestly couldn't make it a day without them now. So I guess this is my look back on my babies.

Mother's Day!

I was sitting at the house on Friday thinking about my first Mother's Day. It was 7 years ago. I found out the Friday before Mother's Day that I was pregnant with Lexie. It was the best weekend to find out that I was pregnant. Little did I know exactly what was in store for my life. The most fulfilling and most difficult job that a person could have is being a mom. I absolutely love that title. There are times that it is very frustrating to be a mom....like when you've been up 72 hours straight with your sick child and you manage to think that cleaning the house is absolutely necessary. But there is no greater gift than being a mom.

This year we had a great Mother's Day. Brandon took me and the kids shopping Saturday. He basically wanted us to be together, but gave me a break by letting me shop "kid-free". He bought me a new pair of Yellow Box

and a new chair

(Okay, so this isn't exact...my is hot pink and green).

All in all it was a great Mother's Day, I still have some money to make some purchases, but I don't yet know what that will be.

UNCLE DUSTIN CAME HOME!!!

A little bit of background information. My brother is Dustin. In October of 2005 he enlisted in the Navy. He so far has been stationed in Chicago, Fort Lejune, North Carolina and now in Pensacola, FL. Which is actually good, because he is close enough to come home from time to time. This was one of those times. He came in on Friday and stayed until Monday. My parents and Dustin came to the house and we grilled steaks and had shrimp and crab legs. The kids loved having Dustin here. They made him go outside and play on the swings and even made him blow bubbles. The things that uncles will do for their niece and nephew. We didn't want him to leave...it just wasn't long enough.

We went to Josie's Place on Friday. This is a farm in Hayden, AL. Lexie loved it. They fed the goats, went to see what life was like in Colonial times, had a hayride and went to horse school. It was a blast!!!
